You might want to share this video with your Mustang Club - It fully covers set up of choke on Motorcraft 2100 carburetor. That is the standard 2 bbl. carb on the 289.
I found several incorrect settings on mine, plus my choke was actually stuck 1/2 open / 1/2 closed so my engine was hard to start and didn't run smoothly when warm. A little work with PB Blaster freed it up and then I was able to dial in the adjustments this video covers.
Now my car starts easily and runs more smoothly.
