Setting up the choke on Motorcraft 2100 Carb

I received this tip from a friend of mine who thought this video might be of interest to some members with older cars:

You might want to share this video with your Mustang Club - It fully covers set up of choke on Motorcraft 2100 carburetor. That is the standard 2 bbl. carb on the 289.

I found several incorrect settings on mine, plus my choke was actually stuck 1/2 open / 1/2 closed so my engine was hard to start and didn't run smoothly when warm. A little work with PB Blaster freed it up and then I was able to dial in the adjustments this video covers.

Now my car starts easily and runs more smoothly.

Re: Setting up the choke on Motorcraft 2100 Carb

Wow!, that brings back memories. In my younger years I was a Tune-Up, Carburetor, Fuel Injection, and Ignition tech. Automatic choke systems are very misunderstood. I made a lot of money rebuilding the Motorcraft 2700 and 7200 Variable Venturi carburetors. I still have some parts and the service set for them in my tool box.

Was thinking of starting a retirement business out of my garage rebuilding carburetors for the vintage car market.
