Has anyone ever done the Wooodward Dream Cruise

It seems like a lot of fun. This year's "Mustang Alley" had almost 1000 cars in it!

Nils and Sharon Jonaitis have done it a couple of times I believe. It does look like it would be a fun trip.

I went in 2002 and it's an experience! Such a great time and so many cool vehicles. We cruised all day and parked at one of the many "cruise-ins" along the route - we chose "Mustang Alley". The 8 hour drive kinda sucked, but worth it.

A MUST DO. Cruzing on Woodward Wednesday Morning is a step back in time. There is also the Ford Museum. Also saw a documentary that had Woodward Blvd. as one of the first places people would do street racing because the lights were 1/4 mile apart. 3rd Saturday in August.August 2012 389.jpgAugust 2012 071.jpgAugust 2012 074.jpgAugust 2012 341.jpgAugust 2012 351.jpg

Re: Has anyone ever done the Wooodward Dream Cruis

Yes, its a must do IMO.

I went the year of the 50 Anniversary unveil with the Mustang Alley, etc. I stayed on the island off of Detroit named Grosse IIe, I rented a room at an old Pilots house. The parking lot had plenty of room and they let me wash my car, they had a huge reel, etc. Took my old roommate from College along, he lives in Milford MI.

Along with the VFMC, I am also a member of MOCSEM, a mustang group of Southeastern MI. They do/offer excellent events in conjunction with Ford especially.

I hooked up with a group of Bullitt owners group named Hoondog Events. Very good group and they offered a ton of things to do. We signed up for a tour of the Piquet Plant, Go Kart Racing (only the group, the kart place was closed to the public fast and bad ass, I took third overall), The Ford Proving Grounds (drove on the track with Shelby's, Bullitt's and Bosses over 100 mph) and received the most killer ride of the proving grounds in an E-350 Van full of people, the driver was a nut proving the van will not flip as we did 35 into a series of donuts with 13 grown men and a driver), Toured the Flat Rock Facility where the 2012-2013 Bosses were built, missed the Bernardi private museum tour, Raced Gingerman HPDE with the group. It was an insane week!

The Car Show and Cruise was the icing on the cake. We cruised out from Woodward all the way out to Novi of 57 I believe and we were still passing cars how after carshow and cruise-ins EVERYWHERE. Met great people from Delphi then sold to Multi Matic, Ford Engineers, and befriended an IT guy that used to work for Shelby America for a long time and left after Carroll pasted, who brought a GT500KR to Woodward and we've been friends ever since. He runs a very cool Shelby FB page as he always gets inside knowledge.

    Will definitely do it again!
